GT Palomar Mountain Bike Review

The 2010 GT Palomar is an entry-level mountain bike for use on paved walkways and nontechnical trails. It comes in black, with white and red trim and the GT decals.
Frame and Fork
The Palomar comes with GT’s Triple Triangle 6061 aluminum frame with linear pull brakes. It has an SR M 2025 alloy crown front fork with 75 mm of travel.
Drivetrain and Shifters
The bike’s drivetrain includes nylon platform pedals; a Suntour XCC-T02 chain set; a Shimano 7-speed, 14- to 28-tooth cassette; and a Shimano TX-51 rear derailleur. It uses Shimano ST-EF50 7-speed EZ fire shifters with a Shimano TY-10 front derailleur.
Wheels and Tires
The Palomar comes with dual-purpose 26 inch ATB tires. The wheels are made with alloy hubs, 14-gauge steel spokes, and black alloy ATB rims.
The price for the GT Palomar as of September 2010 is about $250 to $350, depending on the retailer.
