The Steepest Upper Deck Stadiums in the United States
Several stadiums in the United States boast very steep upper decks, but many of these have now been renovated to make them less steep. Other stadiums have been closed and rebuilt with flatter upper decks.
Georgia Dome
The Georgia Dome in Atlanta is a tall stadium with a steep upper deck. The structure measures 275 feet in height and is home to the Atlanta Falcons NFL team. Excellent spectator views are guaranteed from the upper deck's angled seats.
Memorial Stadium
Memorial Stadium in South Carolina boasts a very steep upper deck that makes attendees feel closer to the action. Though the college football stadium was built in 1942, the upper decks were not added until the late 1970s and early 1980s.
U.S. Cellular Field
Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox baseball team and formerly called Comiskey Park, had an upper deck so steep that renovations were required to flatten the seating rows and stem criticism from fans. Despite the changes, the upper deck is still so steep that fans have a difficult time seeing games from its higher rows.
