It’s no secret that Chris Hemsworth trains hard to maintain his Thor-like physique for the popular Marvel film franchise. But apparently he isn’t even the fittest member of his family. During the red carpet premiere of “Thor: Ragnarok” the 34-year-old gave major props to his gorgeous wife, admitting she was in better shape than him.
“Yeah, she has a greater cardio skill set, endurance than I’ll ever have, and it’s a little embarrassing at times,” the Australian actor told Entertainment Tonight about his wife, actress Elsa Pataky.
The couple, who have been married for six years, both work out with Luke Zocchi, who can be spotted in the many workout videos Hemsworth shares on Instagram. And apparently Zocchi isn’t afraid of telling his star client who really dominates in the gym.
“We have the same trainer, a mate of mine from school that we grew up with, and he very often says, ‘You know what, your wife is much fitter than you are,’ so I’m well aware of it,” Hemsworth says.
Hemsworth recently posted a video of his workout regimen, which included cycling, rope swinging, weightlifting, medicine-ball throwing, pull-ups and push-ups. Grueling, right? But wait until you learn about Pataky’s workouts.
While Pataky, who has three children with Hemsworth, does a good job of kicking bad guys’ butts on the big screen herself (the Spanish actress is best known for her role as Elena Neves in “The Fast and Furious” franchise), she really conquers during her sweat sessions.
According to Men’s Health, the 41-year-old does her fair share of kickboxing, swimming, practicing yoga, riding a stationary bike and doing 40-minute circuit training four times a week. And if that’s not enough, she does Pilates several times a week as well as muay thai.
She should write a book about fitness, right? Been there, done that. The actress co-penned “Intensidad Max” and “Desafîo Max” with trainer Fernando Sartorius, but, unfortunately, unless you speak Spanish you will need a translator to read them to you.
Hemsworth and Pataky are clearly a match made in fitness heaven, but there is one other star who he admits to having a thing for: When asked who should be chosen as People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2017, he picked Chris Pratt. “I am in love with that guy. He’s funny, he’s impressive, he’s talented. I’ve got too much love for him.”
And we for you, Chris.
