True Treadmill 450 Features

True Fitness has been making fitness equipment since 1981. This private company is headquartered near St. Louis, Missouri, and is named after the founder and CEO, Frank Trulaske. The True 450 is actually a series that includes the 450P, 450HRC and the 450HRCO. The 450 series is designed for residential use and features a small footprint.

Space Saving Design

The True 450 series was designed with a small footprint so you can use it in even the smallest room of your house. The base of the treadmill measures 23 inches by 64 inches. One drawback of its small size is the resulting small running area. The walking deck measures 18 inches by 52 inches which some might find a little cramped.

Despite their tiny size, the 450 series treadmills offer a 3.0 horsepower motor, and can handle user weights of up to 400 lbs. The speed can be adjusted between 0 and 10 mph and the incline up to 15 percent. True Fitness offers a lifetime warranty on the frame, five years on all parts, and one year on labor.

The programs that are included with each treadmill vary between the individual models. The 450P offers four preset programs that adjust the speed and incline settings for you--a hill interval workout, a speed interval workout, a cardiovascular workout and a weight loss workout. The 450HRC and 450HRCO include these programs plus two heart rate controlled workouts. The True HRC technology is a patented system that allows you to enter the parameters of your workout including target heart rate, maximum incline, maximum speed and time. The treadmill automatically adjusts the speed and incline throughout the workout to keep you close to your target heart rate.
