How to Reset a ProForm Treadmill Console

When the weather is rotten, and you don’t want to go outside for a walk or a jog, you might prefer to exercise inside on a treadmill, such as one made by ProForm. A ProForm treadmill has an electronic display to show you how fast you’re going and the distance you’ve traveled. There's a handgrip pulse sensor that detects your heartbeat and displays it on the treadmill’s console, which is useful when you want to monitor your cardiovascular exercise. If no pulse appears on the console for a long period, or if the console does not respond to button pushes, it may be locked up.

Press the “Stop” button to stop the treadmill. Unclip the wire connected to the safety key from your clothing, and leave the safety key plugged into the treadmill. The treadmill operates only when the safety key is inserted into it. If a person stumbles or falls off of the treadmill while it is operating it causes the key to detach from the treadmill, stopping it immediately.

Step off the treadmill. Unplug the power cord from its electrical socket. Wait at least 30 seconds.

Plug the power cord back in. “PO” will appear on the console display.

Remove the safety key to clear the “PO,” and then put the key back in.

Put your hands on the pulse grip sensor to test whether it is now functioning and sending your pulse to the display. If it doesn’t, repeat the reset procedure.
