Keys Fitness Treadmill Errors

A Keys treadmill has a quiet, high-powered 3.5-horsepower motor and one-touch speed and incline adjustments. These features make for a comfortable, safe and efficient place for your at-home fitness program. However, if you get an error on your treadmill computer, your workout may be unsafe, so it is best to resolve these issues immediately.

Safety Is Key

The SI 1 and SI 2 error messages cover two safety shut-off features of the treadmill. The treadmill is started with a safety key that fits into the console and attaches to your waist. If you move too far from the console, as when you fall, the key detaches, and the treadmill automatically shuts off. If the key is missing or not properly inserted, an error message of SI 1 is displayed on the console to warn you. The SI 2 error message signals that the outlet cannot support the treadmill voltage, and a circuit has been tripped. You must contact the customer service department to fix this.

Speed and Recalibration

Other error messages signal a disruption in speed. An E11 message is a lack of speed information from the motor. The error message E22 means that the belt is operating slower than the displayed speed. In opposition, an E33 message means that the belt is operating faster than the listed speed. Any of these speed errors may mean you need to recalibrate the belt.

Sticking and Lubrication

An E44 error message indicates that the safety key is stuck. If this occurs, you are advised to contact the Keys customer service department. Another sticky situation occurs when the treadmill belt needs lubrication. If the belt is not kept properly lubricated, it places undue stress on the belt and motor. An error message of E66 will blink and show up in the incline window after 30 hours of use to remind you of regular lubrication maintenance.

Warranties and Manuals

Most of the error message displayed on the console are resolved quickly without the help of the customer service department. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to fix issues with the safety key and the belt's tension and lubrication. The Keys treadmill comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, so issues with these are protected. The belt and deck are covered for three years. Proper use and maintenance along with resolution of the error messages, may prolong the life of your treadmill.
