What to Look For

When shopping for a Proform Crosswalk Treadmill, look for a built-in heart rate monitor and workout fan. For space-saving convenience, your Crosswalk's horizontal platform should fold into a vertical position. The treadbelt should also be cushioned for shock absorption. Look for arm handles that provide upper body exercise. If you are a frequent user, consider a Crosswalk model with a commercial-grade motor.

Common Pitfalls

The Crosswalk treadmills feature a deck that folds vertically for storage when not in use. However, the angled console of newer Crosswalk models does not allow the deck to fold to a fully vertical position, which takes up more space than expected. Also, the relatively short treadbelt, measuring 50 inches compared to other Proform models that measure 60 inches, makes the Crosswalk suitable only for walking. Running on the Crosswalk would be difficult due to the short stride length.
